I learned to design by learning how people make sense of the world.
My path to product design has moved through bilingual communication, consumer research, sales, technology, and holistic wellness. Across each chapter, I kept returning to the same questions: What is someone really trying to do? What context is easy to miss? What would help them feel understood?
MY PATH TO DESIGN
Design became the place where my experience connected
Growing up between Spanish and English, I often helped translate more than words. I learned to notice tone, context, and the assumptions people bring into a conversation. Later roles in research, account management, technology, and wellness strengthened that same practice: listen closely, find the pattern, and make complexity easier to navigate.
Teaching myself to build a website for my wellness business made the connection visible. The questions I was asking about people, structure, and iteration were design questions. Product design gave those instincts a discipline—and a way to turn observation into useful change.

BEYOND THE WORK
What keeps me paying attention.
Outside design, I teach yoga and mindfulness practices, as well as dance salsa and bachata. Those practices keep me connected to the ways people understand one another through presence, movement, and shared experience—not only through words.
